Quilty Orphan Adoption Event -- Fall 2020

Cynthia from Quilting is More Fun Than Housework hosts a brilliant event twice each year: a quilty adoption event.  The idea is to pass on projects that you haven't finished, and that no longer excite you, to someone else.

**If you want any chance of receiving these scraps, please make sure that I have your email address. So far I have 6 requests but 5 a "no-reply" bloggers, which means that your email address is not included in your profile and no one can respond to you!**

So -- here's what's on offer -- a shoe-box stuffed with 3 1/2" squares and some 3 1/2" strips of various lengths.  It's a big mishmash of colors and styles (all quilting cottons)

I'll ship anywhere in the U.S. -- sorry but overseas postage is too crazy!  Let me know what you would do with this bounty of squares.  Make sure your email address is included in your comment.

I will choose a recipient on Sunday the 20th.

I would LOVE to be the recipient of these. I have a big Trail Mix project underway and some could go into it. Others into a scrappy flying geese 'escape' project and yet others as scrappy 4 patches.

I would enjoy using your squares. I make scrappy lap quilts primarily. Most of them go to various charities. I enjoy knowing a little bit of me is out in the world. Right now I am making some for Lutheran World Relief as so many of theirs got destroyed in the Beirut blast. nikki_moshier at hotmail.com

I like to make scrappy quilts and want to make my kids and grandkids a quilt while I am still able. These would be wonderful to use in my 16 patch and Star quilt. Thank you so much for your generous giveaway.

I only make scrappy quilts and love to use fabric that others might discard, no matter how small the pieces are. I am going to make a scrappy double wedding ring quilt with all the colors of the rainbow.

I would love your fabrics! My little ones love to sort and “make blocks” with me. These are a great size for little hands to handle.

I just finished emptying my 3.5 and 4.5 inch scrap bins so would like to have some fun tackling a new box of scraps.

I would love to receive these. I make donation quilts for my local group of quilters. We are very small, usually only 3 or 4 participate on a regular basis to donate to charities in our county in western NC. So far this year we have made about 26 quilts to be given away in the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your consideration.

Someone else's scraps are always tempting. But I have more than enough right now. Thanks for participating!

I could use your scraps to create pillows or placemats for my group’s fundraiser for the Fiber Arts Center. Those things sell well in my village. Hopefully our new building will become a reality this year. But many of our fundraisers were canceled this spring but we are gearing up for some this fall/winter/spring. The push is on as we are now behind in our fundraising. kthurn@bektel.com
