400th post giveaway!

But before I get to the giveaway -- it's YELLOW month at the scrappy rainbow challenge. While digging around for yellow scraps, I found this "what was she thinking" bit of applique (along with more yellow scraps than I expected) so I'm planning a sort of medallion quilt around the patchwork kitty. More to follow...
For my 400th post, I'm giving away a copy of Karen Eckmeier's Happy Villages book.
I took a class with her at Long Beach a couple of years ago and STILL haven't finished quilting my village because I can't figure out what thread I started it with and everything else I've tried looks funny. It's on my list of projects to absolutely get done this year, though.

Aside from my thread issues, though, it's a very fun process and everyone's village is unique. I think it would be great for a mini-group or a retreat -- just leave me a comment if you'd like a chance at the book. I'll draw a winner on Wednesday morning, June 8. Thanks for reading!

Well, I just took a class from Karen Eckmeier, too, and I have the book -- it's a terrific project. And the kitty's cute!

Please count me in Julie - I would love that book. I have been thinking lately about doing some kind of house quilt but I was thinking more about a street - sort of a few houses ( all different ) next to each other but this looks far more fun. If I don't win I may need to track this down - thanx and congrats on 400 posts xx

Congrats! ...and I'd love to win that book. I rarely do quilts from someone else's pattern, but these houses are just awesome.

Congratulations! I'd love to win that book. I actually made a cityscape when I started to do liberated quilting but this would spur me on to do another one...

I'd like to win that book, friend. I remember when Tanya at Taniwa was making these and was just fascinated . . . . .

Congratulations on the milestone! Count me in on the draw. Will I live long enough to make all the quilts that are on my "inspiration" list? Maybe - but a city quilt is definitely one of them! Oh, I like that cat too...!

Congrats on your 400th post. Tee hee on finding the scrap kitty. I find stuff like that all the time and never can figure out what I was thinking. But it is fun to find those little treasures in life.
