must be spring...

My absolute favorite time of year in my garden is when the ceanothus 'Dark Star' blooms blue next to the orangey new growth of the manzanita 'Sunset'. I could stand there and watch the honeybees and bumblebees for ages! It's hard to beat those California natives!

Oh my, I didn't know there were flowers of that incredible blue! California has such wonderful native plants.

Thanks for posting this, Julie, it is all over the North Bay and I didn't know what it was called. I need a couple of those in the yard--now!
